Millbury High School
The Millbury Public Schools is partnering with YOU Inc. to offer all staff a 4 – part Mental Health Series. Participants may participate in 1, 2, 3, or ALL of the sessions.
December 4th – Substance Abuse
Facilitated by a clinician from YOU Inc, Day Treatment Services, this session will provide information on the following topics: differences between experimentation, abuse and dependence; signs of abuse; current trends and substances of use; how to help. This session is aimed at increasing knowledge in order to better identify and support youth who may be abusing substances.
February 11th – Mental Health/Wellness
Facilitated by a clinician from YOU Inc, Day Treatment Services, this session will provide information on the following topics: common mental health issues; signs/symptoms; stress; coping skills; how to help. This session is aimed at providing education and tools necessary to better identify and support youth who may be struggling with mental health issues.
April 8th – Healthy Relationships
Facilitated by a clinician from YOU Inc, Day Treatment Services, this session will provide information on the following topics: defining adolescent relationships; Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships; risks/dangers of unhealthy relationships, resources & how to help. This session is aimed at increasing knowledge in order to better identify and support youth who may be in unhealthy relationships.
May 20th – Bullying
Facilitated by a clinician from YOU Inc, Day Treatment Services, this session will provide information on the following topics: definition of bullying, includes types and warning signs; impact of bullying on both the aggressor and target; building empathy in youth; how to help. This session is aimed at increasing education around the impact of bullying and provide tools to assist both aggressors and targets.
